Entrepreneurs and Experts Remind Rupiah Redenomination Not to Create Inflation
- A number of businessmen and experts have warned the government against plans to redenominate the rupiah to trigger inflation, marking a new round of redenomination issues that have resurfaced in recent days. Indonesia's Ministry of Finance said on Saturday (8/11) that it is planning a new bill to redenominate the rupiah in an effort to improve economic efficiency, maintain stability, and enhance currency credibility. The agenda is enshrined as the Rupiah Redenomination Bill in Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 70 of 2025 on the Ministry of Finance's Strategic Plan 2025-2029, which was stipulated by Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa on October 10, 2025.
- Various responses came from entrepreneurs. The business world emphasized that the government should be careful in implementing the policy, due to the potential for entrepreneurs to increase retail and wholesale product prices by rounding up.

BI survey shows consumer confidence continues to strengthen
- The Bank Indonesia (BI) Consumer Survey in October 2025 showed increasing public confidence in national economic conditions. The Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) was recorded at 121.2, up from 115.0 in the previous month. The figure is above the 100 level which indicates consumer optimism about the current and future economic situation. This increase in confidence was driven by an increase in two main components, namely the Current Economic Conditions Index (CCI) and the Consumer Expectations Index (IEK). The CCI was recorded at 109.1, up from 102.7 in September 2025. Meanwhile, IEK rose to 133.4 from 127.2, indicating that people's expectations of income, employment, and business activities in the next six months are increasingly positive.

Expanding Indonesia's Carbon Market to the Global Level
- The Indonesian carbon market organized by the Indonesia Carbon Exchange (IDXCarbon) is an instrument to achieve the 2030 net zero emission (NZE) target. Until the end of October 2025, the total trading volume reached 698,639 tons of CO2e with a cumulative transaction value of IDR 27.86 billion.
The domestic carbon market, which opened in September 2023, accounts for a sizable share. However, carbon units with international trading authority (IDTBSA and IDTBSA-RE), which opened in January this year, are still relatively small. The total sales value of these international units is still lower than that of domestic transactions.

The September 2025 Retail Sales Survey will be released by Bank Indonesia (BI) on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. The report will present data and analysis on the development of retail sales activities across various commodity groups in Indonesia. This report is an important indicator for businesses, economists, and the government to monitor domestic demand and consumption trends.
