New Car Brands and Variants at GIIAS 2025

The 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) will be held July 24 to August 3, 2025, at ICE BSD.
The seven brands that will debut at GIIAS are Geely, Denza, Seres, Neta, Jaecoo, Aletra, and Polytron. The presence of these brands will bring the latest technology, such as battery-based electric vehicles, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital connectivity systems.
New variants will be featured by existing brands including the Mitsubishi Destinator and Hyundai's Ioniq 6 variant.

Green Energy Potential to Create 72 Million 'Green Jobs' by 2029

According to a report by the Ministry of National Planning and Development (KemenPPN/Bappenas) Indonesia has the potential to create 72 milliongreen jobs in the next four years, along with the development of new and renewable energy.
Based on the Indonesia Green Jobs Development Roadmap for Indonesia's Green Jobs Conference (IGJC) 2025: Turning Vision Into Action launched by Bappenas last April, the number of potential green jobs is projected to reach 56 million by 2025 and will increase to 72 million by 2029.
Bappenas itself predicts that by 2025, the number of green workers in Indonesia is expected to reach 4 million people or 2.7 percent of the total workforce, and could increase to more than 5.3 million people or 3.14 percent by 2029, under a high economic growth scenario.
The term green jobs refers to a variety of jobs that support sustainability, reduce negative impacts on the environment and promote green economic growth.

Boosting Jepara Furniture Industry through Credit Scheme

The government on Tuesday (22/7/2025) provided a new credit scheme for the labor-intensive furniture industry (KIPK) in Jepara amid the difficulty of accessing low-interest financing for craftsmen.
This scheme is stipulated through Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Regulation No. 4 of 2025, and is one of the policies of the Financing Policy Committee for UMKM.
"The KIPK scheme is quite realistic in concept, but it needs to be ensured that its implementation really touches real actors, especially regarding collateral requirements, ease of disbursement, and business assistance," said Abdul Sobur, Chairman of the Indonesian Furniture and Handicraft Industry Association (HIMKI).
Researcher from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Deni Friawan agrees that the presence of Labor Intensive Industrial Credit (KIPK) should be appreciated as a positive step by the government. After all, limited capital has been a major barrier for many furniture industry players to grow and innovate, especially when it comes to modernizing production equipment that requires large costs.

After breaking 2025 record, JCI threatens to continue its upward trend

The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) touched a 2025 record high on Monday (21/7/2025) at 7,398. Although on Tuesday (22/7/2025), JCI closed down at 7344, a number of analysts and retail investors believe JCI will continue its upward trend.
JCI did show a significant strengthening trend for 11 consecutive trading days until Monday, July 21, 2025. On that date, the JCI jumped 1.18% or 86.27 points, reaching a level of 7,398.19. This gain made JCI one of the best performing global stock indices in July.
Mirae Asset Sekuritas Indonesia Senior Technical Analyst, Nafan Aji said "The recent increase in JCI tends to be driven by domestic investors, both retail and institutional. This happened because foreign investors continued to record net sell."

Most Red and White Village Cooperatives in Central Java

President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the operation of 80,000 Merah Putih Village Cooperatives on July 21, 2025.
Based on data from the website merahputih.kop.id, about a third of the total Merah Putih Cooperatives or 25,260 cooperative units are located in Java.
According to the official website Merahputih.kop.id, the largest number is in Central Java, namely 8,563 or 11 percent. Followed by East Java and West Java provinces with 10 percent and 7.3 percent respectively.
