- Oil production capacity as of October was around 608,000 barrels per day. While the need for fuel oil reaches 1.6 million barrels per day. This means that Indonesia still has to import about 1 million barrels of oil per day to meet its needs. Indonesia currently has 120 oil and gas basins and only 20 have been developed, so there are still 108 basins that hold new exploration opportunities. The government has also prepared 75 oil and gas blocks for bidding and organized regulations to make investment more certain. The locations are spread across Indonesia from Andaman to Papua.
