When the Soul Begins to Burn

In an age where technology is supposed to make work easier, humans are actually busier than the average person at work. When communication is faster, humans are also required to be able to do many things, multitasking.

Meeting colleagues more than three times a day, in different places, passing between dusty traffic jams. Productivity, that's the credo of the modern man.

But he forgot, humans also have souls that have limits. If the body can be given a booster, then the soul can experience invisible fatigue - which eats away at the spirit slowly, silently, and there is no booster to immediately restore it. This is where one faces a burnout situation.

Working to burnout is a state of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion that burns out slowly, until there is nothing left due to prolonged work stress.

All because of excessive work demands, lack of control, support, or work-life balance.

Symptoms include constant fatigue, loss of motivation, cynicism towards work, as well as physical health issues such as headaches and sleep disturbances. To overcome it, we need to set work boundaries, take regular breaks, seek social support, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and if necessary, seek professional help.

We've been taught that working hard is the path to success. From waking up early, chasing targets, meeting expectations, and going home with a tired body and a mind that is no longer clear. We call it dedication. But secretly, our souls are starting to crack.

Experiencing burnout doesn't just mean we're exhausted. It is a situation where the mind becomes wounded when our activities lose meaning, when the body is pushed beyond its limits, and when the mind is not given space to rest.

Burnout is a call to pause and ask: Who is the work for? What is this fatigue for?

Stoic philosophy teaches us to distinguish between what we can control and what we cannot. We cannot control the demands of the world, but we can manage our response to them. We can choose to work with awareness, not force.

So, it is time for us to reflect on ourselves, because we are not machines. Imagine yourself as a field. If it is continuously planted without pause, the land will be barren. But if cared for, given time to rest, and planted wisely, the field will continue to yield results.

So it is with our souls. Work that nourishes is work that is connected to value. When we know that our work benefits others, then work is an obligation to be part of a group of other individuals, so that we can benefit others.

So work hard, pursue the world, but don't harm yourself. Activities must be measured, so that we can also fully feel the results.

Therefore, if you feel tired today, it doesn't mean you've failed. Just stop, reflect, and reorient. Not everything has to be done today. The body and soul have the right to pause.

Prepare a cup of coffee to enjoy slowly, everything can be a source of energy. Realize our soul is an entity that has purpose, has value, and has the right to live fully.

Start changing the way you work. Not by abandoning responsibilities, but by bringing awareness. Because work done with the heart will always produce goodness, not only for the world, but also for our own souls.
