Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) China Committee (KIKT) Garibaldi Thohir ensures that the cooperation between Indonesia and China encourages investors to invest in Indonesia.
"The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry's China Committee continues to work with the government to ensure bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and China, and to encourage investors to invest more in Indonesia," said Garibaldi Thohir, whose nickname is Boy, at the Celebrating 75 Years of Indonesia-China Friendship event in Jakarta, Monday (25/8).
In this special year, KIKT has organized a series of events to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Indonesia-China diplomatic relations. Namely, starting with the Indonesia-China Business Reception 2025 which was attended by President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto to welcome Chinese Premier Li Qiang, the Hijri 2025 Food Festival, then the Stamp Issuance Cooperation with the theme of 75 years of Indonesia-China Friendship.
"I hope that with the support of the Governments of Indonesia and China, KIKT can continue to increase its contribution in strengthening bilateral relations that provide great benefits for both countries," Boy said.
This year is a special year for Indonesia and China's diplomatic relations, built on continuous collaboration in the fields of diplomacy, trade, technology, arts, culture, education and entertainment.
"In accordance with our mission at Kadin Indonesia China Committee, we always strive to cooperate with the government to ensure that Indonesia-China bilateral economic cooperation can continue to run smoothly," Boy said.
5,000-kilometer road trip
As part of the 75th anniversary of Indonesia-China diplomatic relations, Boy recently visited Chongqing, a city renowned as a center of industrial innovation and modern infrastructure in Western China to embark on the "AITO Intelligent Drive to ASEAN" journey.
The 5,000-kilometer road trip from China to Indonesia via Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore is a symbol of connectedness, future mobility and greater collaboration in the ASEAN region.
"Alhamdulillah, after traveling overland for more than two weeks, this renewable energy vehicle arrived in Jakarta safely," Boy said.
He hoped the successful road trip would bring stronger ASEAN-China regional integration, a more strategic, sustainable and comprehensive Indonesia-China partnership and a more resilient and environmentally friendly future.
The entrepreneur who raised the Adaro Group and Alamtri also invited all parties to continue working together to continue the 75 years of Indonesia-China strategic partnership, by strengthening the foundation for mutual prosperity.
"We want to show the wider community in Indonesia that the good relations between Indonesia and China have been established for quite a long time. Indeed, diplomatic relations are 75 years old, but of course the relationship between 'people to people' has been hundreds of years," he said.
"Indeed, diplomatic relations are 75 years old, but of course the relationship between 'people to people' has been hundreds of years," said Garibaldi Thohir.
In essence, Boy continued, KIKT wants to continue to strengthen relations between the two countries. Not only trade relations, but also culture, technology, food, diplomacy and others.
"Because of course the relationship between China and ASEAN will be more developed if indeed the epicenter is from Indonesia. Given that economic relations with Indonesia are relations with the largest economic country in ASEAN," Boy said.
